NWORX

Overview.

Overview.

NWORX is a SaaS B2B platform designed to help large companies foster an environment of continuous learning. It allows managers to create educational programs that integrate seamlessly into everyday work routines, making professional development an accessible and ongoing process. However, despite the potential and innovative concept of NWORX, it was becoming evident that the user experience for both managers (the creators of the learning programs) and employees (the end-users of the programs) needed improvement to fully harness the platform's capabilities.

Problem.

Problem.

While the concept was sound and well-received, both managers and employees expressed difficulties with the platform's usability. Managers found the program creation interface to be non-intuitive, making the process of designing laFor the managers, the issue lay primarily in the user interface, which they reported as complex and counter-intuitive. Creating a learning program was becoming an overly time-consuming task, detracting from their regular managerial duties. This was leading to a drop in the use of the platform and a decrease in the number of created learning programs.

On the other hand, the employees, who were supposed to learn from these programs, faced their own set of challenges. The current learning materials lacked engaging and interactive components, making it difficult for employees to stay motivated. Additionally, the learning experience was not personalized, meaning it didn't take into account the employees' specific needs, interests, and skill levels.earning programs cumbersome and time-consuming. Employees, on the other hand, struggled with engaging with the material due to a lack of interactive elements and personalized learning paths.

Solution.

Solution.

In response to these challenges, our team proposed a two-pronged approach. The first part of the solution was to streamline and simplify the program creation process for managers. This involved making the interface more intuitive and reducing the number of steps required to create a program.

The second part of the solution aimed to improve the employees' learning experience. We proposed to introduce interactive and engaging elements into the learning materials and provide personalized learning paths that align with the employees' personal growth objectives and skill level.

Define.

The project's primary goal was to improve the user experience for both managers and employees. We identified the key stakeholders, which included managers, employees, and the leadership of companies using the NWORX platform.

Research & Analysis.

Research & Analysis.

We conducted 9 interviews, including 3 with managers and 6 with employees. The aim was to gain insights into their pain points, expectations, and needs. We also performed a competitive analysis and studied other successful e-learning platforms to identify best practices in UX design for educational tools.

Design.

Design.

With the research findings, we designed an intuitive, step-by-step interface for the managers. The new interface guided the managers through the process of creating a learning program, significantly reducing the time and effort required. For employees, we created a personalized dashboard showcasing their progress, suggested courses based on their preferences, and interactive elements to make the learning process more engaging. In total, the project involved designing 45 unique screens.

Testing.

Testing.

After the initial design phase, we conducted usability testing with 13 participants (a mix of managers and employees) to gather feedback on the new interface and features. Their input led to further refinements in the design. We repeated this process several times until we achieved an acceptable level of usability and satisfaction, measured through the System Usability Scale (SUS) score.
